It’s hard to believe, but 2009 is already half over!! It’s been a
amazing year so far for us, and we are very excited about the next 6
months. If you check out the “Itinerary” page, you will see that it’s
a full schedule, with lots of emphasis in Asia…and once again, an
extended time in Singapore. At the turn ot the Millenium in 2000, our
family visited this island nation to both renew our friendship with
New Creation Chuch, but also to say to that amazing island, and to all
of Asia, we stand with you and your future in Jesus! God’s Spirit was
whispering to us way back then, that His heart was longing to bless
the multitudes of Asia. So our visit in 2000, and recording the
following year with Integrity Music in Singapore, was our statement of
faith for the continent of Asia. This summer Kathy and I plan to spend
2 months there, basing in Singapore, and going out from there to
minister in Indonesia, Korea, and India. It wil be our privilege to
lead worship at the "Festival Of Praise", a yearly gathering of all
churches in Singapore, to join in worship and purpose.
I am also announcing some sort of sad, but good news, and that is that
my good friend and assistant Ole Drejer, has become so popular, and
looks so much like Hugh Grant, (check it out below) that he is just
too busy to take care of his ministry, his family, and try to handle
all my bookings! He’s an amazing friend and worship leader, and
beginning July 1, he will be handing the job he has faithfully done
for the past 2 years, over to my new assistant George Aguilera. I
really can’t thank Ole enough, as he has blessed Kathy and me, and so
many others with his love for God and commitment to worship in ways
that are far beyond our ability to express. Dear brother, thank you so
much!! I’d say we miss you already, but I know we will see you soon!
Note from Ole
Since 1996, my family and I have been involved at International
Apostolic Bible College, , and the college has now
offered me a position to work with the overall leadership of the
college. I will still be involved with worship ministry, teaching at
our School of Worship, which we started in 1998. In 2002, our family
spent a year in Kona, with Bob and Kathy's ministry. During that time
another vision, European Worship Centre , was birthed.
We are now a vision team of seven people from Europe and are working
on connecting, restoring and multiplying worship in Europe. In our
hearts and minds at International Apostolic Bible College and European
Worship Centre, we will always be commited to see the vision of true
worship growing in all the earth. It has been a huge honour in this
season to serve a ministry like the one Bob and Kathy have been given,
and in my heart, I will still be involved, even though not practically
working at the Office of Bob Fitts. ”Thanks Kathy & Bob for your long
time friendship, love, faith and trust in younger people around you.
You will reap a great reward for all the many seeds you are sowing in
all the nations of the earth.” Still remember in my teens when I heard
"Proclaim His Power", and now looking back 20 years later God in his
fantastic ways did bring our paths together with a great friendship.
Thanks Bob, for taking that HUGE step and trusting me with all your
office work back in 2001. I still can't believe you did it :-) But
what an awesome time... You are both very special and we all five love
you lots.
Before moving to Hawaii, almost 30 years ago, it was my privilege to
lead worship and the youth ministry at a fellowship in Riverside,
California. My experience in those 7 years was awesome, and I met some
life-long friends, one of whom will now become my new personal
assistant. George Aguilera is an associate pastor of a church here in
Kona, and he and his wife Karen are just amazing people. George and I
have been friends for a long time, and I am so excited to take that
friendship to a new level. So, beginning July 1, we begin a new phase
with George as my new personal assitant. You will love this man and
find him a joy to work with. Here is a word from George:
Note from George and Karen
I am very excited to be teaming up with Bob and Kathy in this new
adventure in ministry. Karen and I were both part of a leadership
team with them some years ago at a ministry in California for about 5
years (Bob was the pastor who "married" us), after which we attended
and served with “Youth With A Mission” in Hawaii until 1984. After
serving with YWAM, we returned to California and ministered in various
pastoral roles. In 2005 we moved back to Hawaii and are currently
serving as Assistant Pastors at “Living Hope Church” here in Kona..
We’ve been married for 28 years and have four wonderful children. I
look forward to the days ahead with Bob, and trust I can be an
encouragment and facilitator for all that he and Kathy do to honor
Jesus around the world.
