2020, COVERED BY GOD'S GREATNESS

It is just about one year ago now that the entire planet was enveloped in a pandemic of historic proportions, one that has changed the course of all of our lives, and some feel the course of human history. Now there’s a pretty dramatic opening statement for you!! Obviously a very serious matter of course, but as believers, not an issue that has or should it in any way shake our world or world view! We have certainly had to make very dramatic changes to the plans we had for 2020, but as usual, God turns all circumstances that seem catastrophic or extremely difficult, and at some point and in often unusual ways to our greater good. While Kathy and I did have to cancel approximately a dozen different scheduled worship events around the world, we did find ourselves then at home and able to spend time with our family, and what an awesome gift that has been to us!

Both my parents are now in their mid 80s so of course it was very necessary for Kathy and I to pay special attention to their care for a number of reasons. Both are stepping into a season of life that is special and also challenging, and to have our entire year opened for time with them, has been an unexpected joy of 2020. As some of you most likely have noticed, along with the cancelation of all ministry events, I have also made an attempt in the last few months to reevaluate my social media presence in light of a number of issues that came to light in the closing months of 2020. God has so wonderfully given us the blessing of super convenient communication via the internet, and along with this convenience has come some areas of concern with regard to the appropriate use and supervision of content. Clearly there is a need for refining these guidelines, so I have taken a bit of a step back from communication via “Facebook”, “Twitter”, and “Instagram”. In the mean time I am researching next steps as well as alternatives to these platforms, and look forward to reestablishing a fresh presence on Social Media in the days to come. Throughout what has become one of the most profoundly shaking, yet amazingly abundant season of spiritual awakening in the United States and around the globe, God has made it so clear that He is working mightily both visibly and behind the scenes. Frequently as I’ve looked to the heavens in both prayer and sincere expectation of good things to come, I have seen what I consider to be beautiful signs in the heavens that God’s people are in an exciting time of expansion, protection and favor. God’s tender Father heart toward all mankind is the heart of the message we as believers bring to a world in turmoil, and these “signs” of heavenly oversight should bring such courage to all who have put their faith in the God of the Heavens. Dear friends, the best days are yet ahead of us all, in spite of what has been what for many a year of profound challenges. I believe along with you the words of the Apostle Paul who prophesied, “Eye has not seen, ear has not heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

P.S. Photos are just a few cloud formations from the past year that were beautiful representations of Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings will you trust”
